Aya Kadhom Abbas
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Aya moved to Arizona in December 2021 and began working at Ally in January 2022 as Lead Registered Behavior Technician while pursuing her master’s in special education (Applied Behavior Analysis) at Arizona State University. She graduated from her master’s program in May of 2023.
Aya was born in Iraq, grew up in Yemen, and moved to the U.S. in 2009. She lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She studied Psychology with minors in social work and human biology at Eastern Michigan University and graduated with her Bachelors in 2019. Aya began working as a behavior technician in the ABA field in 2019 while studying for the MCAT in hopes of going to medical school. She fell in love with the science of ABA and the work she does. Seeing the impact, she has on each child’s progress was the reason she chose to further her education in ABA.
She enjoys working with children from diverse backgrounds and learning about their cultures. She was able to provide ABA services in Arabic and hopes to continue working on inclusion and diversity in the work field. Aya is currently working as a Senior Clinical Resident and is working towards being a BCBA.
Aya enjoys spending lots of time with her family, loves to travel when the opportunity permits, and to explore new places, new foods, and new hikes.
