Shaye Faherty has been working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders since 2014. Her experience began in a special education preschool, where she provided classroom support to children with a variety of diagnoses. During this experience, Shaye had the opportunity to observe a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) and instantly knew that this was the career path she would follow.
Shaye attended Emerson College in Boston, MA where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. During her undergraduate career, Shaye interned in a K-8th grade school as well as a preschool setting where she provided speech and language therapy to children on the autism spectrum, under the direct supervision of an SLP. Beyond the classroom, Shaye joined an autism research lab with the goal of raising awareness and studying how children on the autism spectrum perceive and produce social cues (facial expressions and tone of voice).
Shaye is so excited to be a part of the Ally Pediatric Therapy team. Her favorite part of being an SLPA is working with children and families to individualize treatment and making a difference in their lives.
