Assistant Director of Speech and Feeding Services
Ellen was born & raised in central Illinois before attending Southeast Missouri State University for both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communication Disorders. She also holds a minor degree in Autism Studies. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA and Arizona state licensure. Ellen joined Ally in April 2022.
Ellen’s experience spans nearly a decade, evaluating and treating various speech, language, feeding, and swallowing disorders across the lifespan. Her clinical passions fall with autism, gestalt language processing, AAC, phonology, and feeding disorders. She is an NLA Trained Clinician and is listed on the Meaningful Speech NLA Trained Clinician Registry.
Ellen is an advocate for neurodiverse affirming practices and a child-led, strengths-based approach to treatment. She supports Natural Language Acquisition, Alternative & Augmentative Communication, and play-based therapies in her daily practice.
Ellen is a champion for integrated care and interdisciplinary collaboration to support the whole-child and creates supportive environments for children and their families to thrive in naturalistic settings.
Ellen resides in Gilbert with her husband, two daughters, and black lab. When there is free time amongst the chaos of toddlers, she enjoys reading, baking, farmer’s markets, and being outside.
